Many training methods have their origins in military units, where you have general training for recruits (at American Boot camp) and training for specialized purposes. Circle training is said to have been invented by the US military to have an effective and standardized training course for recruits. In Russia, kettlebells are used for general basic training of recruits. Many special units have developed training methods to build a perfect form of combat. These methods and tools have since become widespread for, for example, functional training and cross training.
